FLUR DYC Co-Hosts International Art Project with Primorye State Art Gallery
- Partnership with Primorye State Art Gallery for international art project
- Showcase of contemporary Korean art in Russia featuring seven Korean artists, including Lee Sang-won
- Online opening ceremony held at FLUR Group headquarters
On May 31, FLUR DYC, a global cultural content development company, held the online opening ceremony for an international art project co-hosted with Russia's Primorye State Art Gallery from its headquarters in Seoul.
This project, now in its third year since its inception in 2022, was initiated to support Korean companies facing challenges in Russia due to the international situation. This year's theme, "Vladivostok Embraces the Art of Seoul and Busan," features contemporary art by seven Korean artists showcased at the Primorye State Art Gallery in Russia.
The exhibition, running for 31 days until June 30, will present a total of 37 works by eight artists representing Seoul and Busan: Lee Sang-won, Choi Eun-hee, Kim Young-hoon, Yoon Byung-woon, Kim Min-jung, Lee Beom-hun, Kim Gil-hu, and Yoo Min-seok. Following the exhibition, an art auction will be held through Russia's renowned auction house, DALART.
Located in Vladivostok, the Primorye State Art Gallery was established in 1966 and is known for its unique collection and rich history. It holds works by Russian masters such as Vladimir Borovikovsky, Ilya Repin, and Valentin Serov, and is recognized as the leading art museum in Russia’s Asia-Pacific region.
The opening ceremony was held simultaneously at the Primorye State Art Gallery in Russia and online at FLUR DYC's Seoul headquarters. Attendees included two of the participating artists, Busan's Cooperation Officer Jang Soo-hyun, and the AXA Gallery Director.
Since 2021, FLUR DYC has been preparing the Le Freeport Art Town project in Busan. In November of last year, the company signed MOUs with the Primorye State Art Gallery and the State Hermitage Museum. FLUR DYC remains the only organization in Korea actively fostering international cultural exchange and cooperation between Korea and Russia in the arts, providing Korean artists with opportunities to exhibit their works in Russia.
Yoo Min-seok, CEO of FLUR DYC, stated, "We will continue to introduce Korean artists abroad while also bringing lesser-known but high-quality Russian cultural content to Korea. We plan to pursue sustainable art projects through future international cultural exchanges and collaborations."
